Deputies will not release the property to you without positive identification. Inmates can receive paperback books and magazines through a publisher or retail outlet only. If books or magazines are purchased for an inmate, they must be mailed directly to the jail from the distributer.
We reserve the right to physically check on the employee at the work site at any time, either by phone or in person. An individual must be sentenced to at least 3 days to be eligible for work release. At the discretion of the Elmore County Detention Center, the individual may be released from jail each working day, if approved by the Jail Commander, to go out to work and will be expected to report back to jail at the end of the work day. Although not required, it is recommended you schedule your visit at least 24 hours in advance so the inmate will have the opportunity to accept the visit. ELMORE AMBULANCE SERVICE EMT – RESERVE PROGRAM
While membership numbers may fluctuate, the program is still able to get patrols out to assist as additional eyes and ears for the police and in our community. Currently, the Mountain Home Citizens on Patrol has five marked cars equipped with two way radio and top lights. This helps them in assisting with traffic control, funeral escorts, air ambulance services, vacation watch requests and other details as directed. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Dispatch Sergeant, Dispatch Corporal, or designated Senior Dispatcher, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of this class are performed in a central communications center requiring constant attention to several communications sources at any given time.

The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment. The Work Release fee is $25.00 for every day an individual is released from the jail to go to work.

An Emergency Medical Technician has certification and licensure as an EMT and provides basic-level life support under the direction of paramedics and AEMT’s. Professional, educational or personal experience in office management, administrative assistant or successful program development and support. The Elmore County Detention Center will ensure that an investigation is completed for all allegations of sexual abuse and sexual harassment. As part of the Work Release program agreement, the individual must follow all the rules and regulations outlined in the program.
Support Services
Sexual harassment is defined as repeated and unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or verbal comments, gestures, or actions of a derogatory or offensive sexual nature. Our policy prohibits staff, inmates, and other adults in the facility from doing any of these things at all times. If you choose to post a cash bond for an inmate, this does not resolve the charges or fines against them. The cash bond is merely collateral that the inmate will appear in court on the date and time given to him/her by the releasing officer.
The Dispatch Emergency Call Taker serves as a centralized communications agent answering 911, and other emergency calls, to arrange for service from Police, Fire, EMS, and other emergency response personnel; performs related work as required. This is a sworn law enforcement position whose primary function is to enforce state and local laws and ordinances and respond to calls for assistance from the public. The Sheriff Inmate Labor Detail Program allows a person sentenced for a crime to serve their sentence on a work crew rather than being incarcerated in the jail. The individual will be supervised by a Deputy and perform work as assigned during the day and then will be released to go home to return on their next scheduled SILD day. The employee must be at the work site at all times or will be found in violation of the work release agreement.
Citizens on Patrol
A work schedule printed on business letterhead with the dates and times the employee is scheduled to work in the week to follow must also be submitted with the packet. The schedule must contain the name and signature of the employee’s supervisor and a business telephone number where the supervisor can be reached. It must also include the type of business and the address or location the employee will be working each day. If any changes must be made to the schedule or the location of work, the supervisor must contact the Elmore County Detention Center prior to the change and will fax or send the revised schedule as soon as possible to the Detention Center.
Parents and/or guardians of young children who become disruptive to other visitors or staff will be asked to leave and the visit may be terminated. After all the testing criteria are successfully met, as well as the basic requirements for the position, the applicant will have an interview with the Chief of Police and the Command Staff to determine eligibility for the position.
When detention staff receives paperwork for a posted bond and/or an order for release from the court, staff will start processing the inmate for release. All released inmates will be directed to meet their bonding party in the jail lobby. As the only administrative support person in the Department, the employee provides assistance to the public on all Department programs/procedures, fees and other business-related issues. The Mountain Home Citizens on Patrol started with just four members in 1994 and in the time has grown to as many as 40 members.

This employee reviews plans, provides written comments, and enforces all rules and ordinances related to building codes and other general health, welfare, and safety matters with integrity and professionalism. In accordance with the National PREA Standards, the Elmore County Detention Center has a zero tolerance policy against sexual abuse and sexual harassment. Sexual abuse includes any kind of sexual contact, regardless of whether the other party agreed to the contact or not. Individuals who are serving time on the SILD Program by order of the Elmore County Court will be required to pay $25.00 per day prior to departing with the SILD Supervisor.
